What do you get when you combine high-energy padel and creative vegan food? Giuseppe Federici - friend of the club, plant-based foodie, and our latest guest on Courtside Convos. We sat down with Sepps, after a sweaty session on the court, to talk acaí bowls, underrated vegetables, and why Billie Eilish might just be the perfect padel partner.
From Court to Kitchen
Fresh from a game, Sepps shared his post-match ritual: "An Acaí Bowl. Almond butter, plant-based protein, goji berries, bananas, cacao nibs - all the good stuff." As a committed vegan, his meals are far from boring. His go-to dinner? A walnut and sunflower seed lasagna. “It’s so easy,” he insists. “Just soak the walnuts and cashews, blend them up, add fresh tomato sauce and pasta sheets - simple.”
Simple might be a stretch, but there's no denying his passion.
Padel Tips and Dream Doubles
For anyone trying to improve their game, Sepps has a clear strategy: “Go to the net immediately after serving. 80% of points are won at the net.” Numbers don’t lie.
And if he could choose anyone to play doubles with? “Billie Eilish,” he says without hesitation. Why? “I just think she’d be quite good… and she’s vegan. We could share an acaí bowl afterwards.”
What Sepps Rates (and Doesn’t)
Most overrated ingredient? “Salt,” he says, before quickly suggesting alternatives: miso paste, soy sauce, and nori.
Overrated veggie? “Broccoli - there are just so many others that are better.”
Top vegetable pick? “Tomatoes. You can do so much with them.”
Fave pasta shape? “Farfalle - it’s Nonna’s favourite.” (We don’t argue with Nonna.)
Supper Sessions with Sepps
So, what to expect at Sepps’ Supper Session down at the club in Earl’s Court? “If you're lucky enough to get a ticket, expect incredible food, great vibes, competitive padel, and vegan hot dogs,” he laughs.
And his best dish? “Probably my pistachio tiramisu. It's not technically a meal... but honestly, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.” Same, Sepps. Same.
Whether he's dominating the padel court or redefining vegan comfort food, Sepps brings creativity and flair to everything he does. Watch out for our next Supper Session - and maybe leave room for dessert.
